As a mom, I’m such a sucker for sweet, chubby cheeked newborns—there’s honestly nothing cuter in this world. So when Kait reached out for some newborn photos of her new little man, I was stoked!

I’ve known Emily and Tanner forever (since the junior high school days!), and I’ve loved being able to capture some sweet moments for their fam over the past year. Remember those stunning photos of Em during her pregnancy a month ago? Well, I was finally able to meet and snap some photos of their adorable new addition, sweet little Ryla!

As the mom of a lively 2.5-year-old, I totally get how important it is to capture those precious moments when they’re small. But let’s be real, photoshoots can be a bit stressful and overwhelming, especially when active and energetic littles are involved!

Abi (Abigail Faith Photography) and I did a lil’ photo session swap at one of my favourite Alberta spots a couple weeks ago, and we couldn’t have asked for a more dreamy evening to capture some golden hour photos.

There are so many things to consider when planning a family photoshoot. And while your photographer will absolutely help you pick a perfect time and location for your session, it’s often up to you to pick out what your family is going to wear. But where do you even start?

I love documenting pregnant mamas. Pregnancy itself is such an incredible journey and transformation, and I just love encapsulating the raw beauty and emotion of it through photography.
